The Facts: We want to know what acts of kindness inspire you the most. Share a care mission idea in the comments, and we’ll consider using it for a future care mission.

Care missions are simple acts of kindness that can help seniors or help people better understand the needs of older adults in our society. An ideal care mission will

  1. Inspire someone to GIVE their time to make a difference;

  2. Help someone LEARN about a challenge seniors may face; or

  3. Allow people to SERVE others through simple acts of care or kindness.

Leave your care mission suggestions in the comments or on social media!

  11. People should actually get to know these elderly people inside and out . Love their job . And patience . Treat them like family . Not like orphans . Give them the laughter comfort they’ve been missing ! And actually mean it and show it . They can feel when it’s real .

  12. Just in general people respecting and being kind to seniors such as holding the door open for them, listening when they need someone to listen to them! Today at a local restaurant an elderly woman was paying her check and she carried on for some time to the cashier about her work career and travels and he politely listened and didn’t rush her. At the end she apologized for boring him and he smiled and said, “not at all!”

  13. Actscofcservice! It would help so much just to have someone work in the landscape, rake leaves, pull weeds etc. Show up with a plate of food or desert. Clean our vehicle, clean the house or just one room, the bathroom I’d the hardest for me because of bending over to scrub the shower and because of COPD smelling the cleaners I just can’t do it. I don’t mind paying someone for these services but you hire them and they rarely or never show up.
