Do you have a favorite photo or inspirational story? Don’t be shy! Share it with a senior friend or relative on social media. Reaching out can let your senior loved one know you’re thinking about them.

Your mission this week is to post something sweet, funny, or joyful on a senior’s Facebook page. Here are a few tips to get started.

5 Tips for Using Social Media to Brighten a Senior’s Day

  1. Drop them a private message and ask them how they’re doing.
  2. Share a recipe you plan to make and invite them over to taste it.
  3. Send family photos and updates.
  4. Share your favorite funny photo or inspirational saying.
  5. Go beyond the like button โ€“ thoughtfully comment on their social media posts.

The next time they hop online, they’ll see something that will surely brighten their day.

  2. I left a message to a friend with cancer and told her she was on my prayer list and I pray for her daily.
    I also sent a BD card with well wishes and prayers to another friend with cancer who is also on my prayer list

  4. Hi I took my mom to visit a friend in the nursing home the day after signing up & tried to smile/chat with as many residents as possible; it was easy and felt so good. Their smiles were incredibly rewarding!

  13. I’VE STATED A VISITATION MINISTRY WHERE I LIVE, AND HAVE VISITED 4 OF THE 5 LADIES ON MY LIST SO FAR AT LEAST 2 TIMES IN SEVERAL WEEKS. I LOVE TO LET THEM KNOW THAT I’M PRAYING FOR THEM AND THINK ABOUT THEM FREQUENTLY.
