Jul 23 Care Mission

Send a Postcard

Whether you're taking a staycation or vacation this summer, drop a postcard in the mail to a senior loved one to show you care.

The Facts: According to the National Institutes of Aging (NIA), 19% of older adults in the United States suffer from loneliness. Sending a postcard is an easy way to say hello and let someone know that you are thinking about them. Stamp out loneliness, and embrace snail mail with these new ways to approach sending postcards:

  • If you’re traveling, take pre-addressed mailing labels and postcard stamps with you to make it easier to drop a note in the mail.
  • For a digital approach, there are services that will let you upload your message and send customized real postcards to loved ones weekly, monthly, or quarterly.
  • Get the kids involved! They get to practice writing while a senior gets a “hug” through the mail.

Hello, I always communicate with my dear uncle to talk to him and help him in whatever he needs. I always communicate with him because he is a special person, since all people with capacity are wonderful people. I would like to be responsible and provide everything that is necessary to give all my support💖

My client has moved back north for the summer. She has an I phone and I send her photos and messages. I took pictures of my ginger in bloom to send her. That’s her favorite flower!
