Get Career Advice

Many people thrive in the workforce well into their golden years. Connect with a senior and ask them to share their experience and advice about the working world.

Share this Care Mission and inspire others to take part

The Facts: Two-thirds of Baby Boomers plan to work past age 65, already are working past age 65, or do not plan to retire, according to a report from the Transamerica Center for Retirement Studies. That means you have a chance to connect with a seasoned professional, whether they are still working or retired, who can share their decades of career experience. This mission can help both you and your senior friend bridge the gap between generations and discover new perspectives about working and what it really means to retire.

Not sure where to start? Here are some questions to get you started:

  • What do you enjoy most about your job?

  • What career advice would you give to someone my age?

  • What are some of the biggest changes you’ve seen in the workplace and how have they impacted your industry?

I always love hearing what my clients did, one of my favorite. An artist and school art instructor. I took her to Cleveland art museum, as we walked and admired many paintings, she stood for a very long time staring at one painting, I could see her tear up, she paused, reached for my hand and told me the artist of the portrait we were admiring, was her instructor!!!
