The Facts: Cut a rug. Shimmy. Bust a move. Disco. Texas Two-Step. No matter what you call it, research shows dancing of any kind can significantly improve muscle strength, endurance, balance, and general functional fitness in older adults. It tends to be a natural mood booster and is a great way to socialize.

Your mission is to dance with a senior. Everyone, from kids to grandparents, can have fun with this activity. Each family member could share the most popular moves of their generation. Hitting the dancefloor has always been a popular past time, so it will be fun and easy to find some common ground.
